Unlike most upholstered furniture manufacturers, we start with the seating.....in our case, the futon mattress. It's critical, to our way of thinking, to be able to offer you an 8" thick, standard-size, fitted sheet-fitting mattress so that you can rest-assured that your overnight guests are sleeping well. Our full size mattress measures 54"x75" and has you sleeping parallel to a wall. Our loveseat/ottoman combination also measures 54"x75", only now you're perpendicular to that wall (see The LofaBed Family photos). In each case you must add the arms to determine the overall length or width of the unit. For instance, the photos on this page display the Piping/Mag arm, which is 9" wide. Add two of these arms to a full size mattress and you're looking at 93". If you don't have that much wall space available, consider the loveseat/ottoman combination, which is only 72" wide with the same arms added.
You can also reduce the length of your LofaBed by selecting a smaller arm style. We have nine separate arm designs, including the California Collection, varying in width from 2" to 10" each. This means that by merely changing arms, you can modify the LofaBed size from 95" (10" arms) all the way down to 79" (2" SpaceSaver arms)! Of course you give up a lot in appearance and comfort with SpaceSaver arms but, hey, they do save space.
And lastly, there's the distance from the wall (depth) as well as from the floor (height) to consider. This is easy......all LofaBeds, regardless of size, are 39" deep and 39" high. All seat depths and all seat heights are 22". And while we're into details, please note that the storage compartment of a full size LofaBed measures 75"x27"x7".....larger than the trunks of some sports cars we've driven! |
